Stemulation generates skin-care product buzz

— There’s a new arrival at the cosmetic counters at Feinstein’s, 5600 Kavanaugh Blvd. in Little Rock: Stemulation.

Manufactured by Cole Martin Inc. - and used by Demi Moore, according to a 2010 Harper’s Bazaar story about the actress - Stemulation was born of a quest by its founder, Laurie Nicoll, to alleviate her persistent skin ailments and premature aging. This luxury skin-care line utilizes human stem-cell extract (not the controversial ones, but rather stem cells from the bone marrow of adult donors). The extract can be absorbed directly into the skin as what a Stemulation brochure proclaims to be “the most powerful regenerative mechanism for anti-aging and healthy vibrant skin on the market.” Its naturaland organic ingredients, according to the brochure, combine to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by 46 percent and improve tightening and firmness of skin tissue by 65 percent.

Prices range from $35 for a 6-ounce Gentle Gel Cleanserto $240 for a 1-ounce Facial Serum. Feinstein’s is planning a special Stemulation event to be announced later. Meanwhile, for more information, contact Janet Petrus at (501) 664-7330.

FOR A MORE PERFECT NAIL

Wish you could polish your nails as nicely as the technician at the salon can? Well, you don’t have to. Kiesque’s Liquid Palisade is described as being “like painter’s tape for nails!” Brush it on, and it dries quickly, becoming a barrier that covers the cuticles during nail polish application. It then peels off easily, creating a perfect color line ... even if you can’t “color within the lines.”

The product costs $22 at liquidpalisade.com, which includes video as well as written instructions on basic use and how to create French manicures and nail art.

YOURS, TRULY

Still can’t find jeans that fit? You may be interested to know that True Fit (truefit.com) has introduced new technology that helps each customer know how well clothes and shoes they view online will fit them in real life, and recommends which size is best. As the inaugural retail partner, Macy’s will be the first to offer this technology for its online customers. True Fit’s technology is initially available for women shopping the Macy’s denim collection within its Women’s Denim Finder (macys.com/denimfinder).

Customers can create their True Fit profile in three steps: First, they identify what fits them from their own closet; second, they identify conceptual body descriptions; and third, they complete their profile with some basic information - no measurements necessary. True Fit’s software then delivers personalized fit and size recommendations in real time and provides the user with a few key guides for each style they view: True Fit Scores (T-Scores) are displayed next to each product, indicating how well each item fits (a 5-point scale where 5T’s is a perfect fit). True Fit size is also displayed, representing the recommended size for a customer in a specific product. True Fit Details show how snugly or loosely that particular item will fit that person’s body.
