ON TV CONTEST

— The 2011-12 TV season is still relatively new, but already shows are being dragged off to the network guillotine. This is your chance to make a plea for just one TV show to be spared.

For the new On TV Contest, the judge asks: What is your favorite current TV series? Why?

Are you enchanted by Once Upon a Time? Does Last Man Standing fill a hole in your life you didn’t know existed?

For this contest, you may choose any scripted or “reality” series that is still producing and airing new episodes. Canceled series and news programs are off limits. Of course, if the show is canceled after you send your entry, the judge won’t hold that against you.

Your entry can take any form you like, whether it’s a formal letter or a song to the tune of “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.” Just be sure to explain your choice.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72201; or by e-mail to jnixon@arkansasonline. com. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. Nov. 21.

The reader with the best-written entry will get to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Sharron Reed of Caraway, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
