4 men arrested in connection with Tollette hay heist

— Authorities say four men have been stealing heavy hay bales from a field in southwest Arkansas.

The Texarkana Gazette reported Friday that authorities arrested four suspects after Paul Sutton told authorities his hay was disappearing from his field near Tollette.

Howard County Chief Deputy Bryan McJunkins says the thieves must have had strong backs to be able to heft 800-pound hay bales from Sutton’s field.

The suspects, who have been charged with theft of property, allegedly rolled each bale of hay onto a flatbed trailer before driving away with the goods.

Authorities say they stole about 100 bales of hay.

The suspects bonded out of the county jail where they were being held.
