LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. Authorities say a man with a rifle has killed his two young daughters and then himself at an upstate New York campground.
Warren County Sheriff Bud York says the girls may have been sleeping when 29-year-old Hilton resident Adam Parcells shot them Monday.
The family had been staying in a tent at the 168-acre Adirondack Camping Village, 50 miles north of Albany near the village of Lake George.
The bodies were found Tuesday, four days after 10-year-old Noel Parcells’ mother reported her missing. Also killed was 3-year-old Mia Parcells.
The sheriff says the girls were Adam Parcells’ children by different mothers. He says nobody reported hearing the shootings, which happened after a rainy day that saw many people leave the popular summertime tourist destination at the end of the Labor Day weekend.
