King information on Petrino crash may be out today

— The Arkansas State Police is hoping to release information gathered from Capt. Lance King on Monday afternoon regarding Bobby Petrino's motorcycle accident on April 1, a spokesman with the office said.

King was the officer that took Petrino to the hospital following the accident in Madison County. Petrino initially refused to call 911 at the scene, then had a passing car take himself and his passenger, Jessica Dorrell, 25, back to Fayetteville where he met with King and Dorrell left for her own vehicle.

State Police officials requested additional information from King, making that known to the public on Friday afternoon.

Petrino broke several ribs, sprained his neck and cracked a vertebrae in the accident. Petrino did not divulge that Dorrell was with him on the bike to Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long until Thursday afternoon.

Long has placed Petrino on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation into the matter.

Inside the Petrino Crash

PETRINO STATEMENT: “I was informed in writing today at 5:45 p.m. that I was being terminated as head football coach at the University of Arkansas. The simplest response I have is: I’m sorry. These two words seem very inadequate. But that is my heart. All I have been able to think about is the number of people I’ve let down by making selfish decisions. I’ve taken a lot of criticism in the past. Some deserved, some not deserved. This time, I have no one to blame but myself." CONTINUE READING HIS STATEMENT
