Man surrenders, tells police he shot in retaliation

A 20-year-old man turned himself in to Little Rock authorities Sunday night in the shooting of another man.

Broderick Jackson told detectives that he shot Freddie Bluitt, also 20, because Bluitt had shot him last December in North Little Rock, according to an incident report.

Bluitt was found Sunday lying on the side of the roadway near #5 Doe Run Cove. He had multiple gunshot wounds in his upper chest and neck area. He was transported to St. Vincent Hospital, where he was in stable condition prior to surgery.

Jackson was charged with first-degree battery.
