Police investigating shooting near Cabot

LITTLE ROCK — Authorities are investigating a shooting Monday night that left one man with a gunshot wound to the elbow.
Pulaski County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Carl Minden said deputies were called to 2030 Dean Martin Drive outside Cabot just before 9 p.m.
There, they met 29-year-old Matt Sitzman, who reported that 21-year-old Roy Beers had assaulted and shot him. Sitzman had blood on his head, face, hands and arms, according to a police report. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police believe Beers fled the scene in Sitzman's Hyundai Accent. The car was found a short time later abandoned in the 13800 Block of Sumner Cemetery Road.

I will guess this is meth related in Lonoke County- the meth capitol of Ark.

So quick to jump to conclusions. This was a continuing domestic issue, started by an estranged wife, that has escalated. I am familiar with the man who was shot and has been accosted and brutally beaten by his exes new boyfriend and his accomplice. One shouldn't speak so quick with nothing but assumptions and allegations". Our prayers go out to him and his family for a speedy recovery and a quick resolution to this ongoing issue.
