LITTLE ROCK — A man who police say drove around barriers at a Jacksonville accident scene and fatally struck a firefighter is considered a person of interest in an assault with a vehicle in Ohio, authorities said Friday.
Bryce Allen, 47, was arrested last month after he drove into an accident scene on State Highway 161 in Jacksonville and struck two firefighters and a police officer, authorities have said. Jacksonville Fire Department Capt. Donald Jones died from his injuries.
On Friday, authorities said Allen is a "person of interest" in an Oct. 11, 2011 incident at a Columbus, Ohio hospital. Police say a man driving a black Cadillac attempted to run over a hospital security guard after getting into an argument with a valet driver. The guard reportedly fired his weapon into the Cadillac, but the driver drove off from the scene.
Jacksonville police say they are trying to locate the vehicle. It is owned by Allen and has a license plate of 356RIW, according to a news release.
Allen is being held at the Pulaski County jail on charges including second-degree murder and two counts of criminal attempt to commit second-degree murder.
