Santorum says money a reason he left GOP race

— Rick Santorum says money is one of the reasons he all but ended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.

And the former Pennsylvania senator says he hasn’t had the chance to discuss an endorsement with any of the candidates — Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

In an interview Thursday with Fox News, Santorum said his loss in Wisconsin on April 3 made it very difficult to raise money for his campaign. He attributes part of the fundraising problem to constant questioning in the media about when he would leave the race and a general media narrative that it was impossible for him to win.

Santorum suspended his campaign Tuesday. After more than 30 primaries and caucuses, he was far behind Romney in delegates to the GOP convention.
