Benton police arrest 2 on theft charges

Benton police arrested two robbery suspects yesterday.

A man reported Friday that his home had been robbed. Officers responded to the house on Columbia Street, and the resident told them that his home had been robbed sometime between Thursday around 7 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m. More than 1,000 dollars worth of property had been taken and the residence had been damaged.

Officers conducted an investigation and arrested William Cody Sims, 21, and Richard Cruse, 23. Sims and Cruse face residential burglary, theft and first degree criminal mischief charges.
