— There’s a new mystery on the University of Alabama campus: Which player’s father broke the Crimson Tide’s latest BCS championship trophy?

University officials say the $30,000 crystal football shattered after being knocked off its stand following the annual A-Day scrimmage on Saturday.

A university spokesperson says the father of a current player accidentally toppled the trophy, which was on display in the athletic building. But The Tuscaloosa News reports that officials aren’t releasing the name of the man, who apparently tripped near the display.

‘Bama fans have already come up with a joke about the mishap. Some are posting on social media: “Don’t worry about it. We’ll get another one next season.”

It’s unclear whether the Waterford crystal trophy was insured.
