HARRISON — Police in Harrison have arrested a man for the slaying of a woman at the Ozark Mountain Inn last November.
Police say 26-year-old Jon Shatwell was arrested Monday on a first-degree murder charge for the death of 24-year-old Savanna Dickinson.
Dickinson was found shot to death at the inn and her death was initially classified as a suicide, but police kept investigating.
The Harrison Daily Times reports that police documents say Shatwell told investigators he was in the room with Dickinson when she killed herself. He told police she held the .45-caliber pistol as far as two feet from her head when she pulled the trigger.
The document goes on to say Shatwell later admitted to shooting Dickinson during an argument.
Shatwell is held on $500,000 bond.
