LITTLE ROCK A scholarship for political science students is being created in honor of longtime Arkansas House Parliamentarian Tim Massanelli.
House Speaker Robert Moore on Wednesday announced the establishment of the Tim Massanelli Endowed Scholarship for Political Science. The scholarship was created by current and former House members in honor of Massanelli, who has served as parliamentarian since 1973.
The scholarship will be used to provide assistance for any education-related expenses for students pursuing a degree in political science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
A spokeswoman for the House said the amount of the scholarship hasn’t been determined yet. Massanelli stepped down from his post last year for health reasons, but House spokeswoman said he still serves as parliamentarian on an as-needed basis.
