Father left in charge with 4 kids found passed out in yard

— A father who had been left in charge of his four young children while their mother worked was arrested after authorities found him passed out in a nearby yard, according to a police report.

Ontiaro Miller, 31, was booked into the Pulaski County Jail on four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of public intoxication.

According to a North Little Rock Police Department report, Miller was left to watch his four children, ages 9 months, 2, 4 and 5, while the mother went to work around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

But investigators were called around midnight after Miller was spotted passed out in a front yard near the home, 1218 W. 11th St. The children were alone inside the home.

Police helped Miller to his feet and later noted in the report he had bloodshot, watery eyes and the strong odor of intoxicants on his breath.

The mother arrived about 20 minutes after police. The children, who were unharmed, were left in her custody.

The Department of Human Services was notified of the incident, police said.
