Trial rescheduled in Arkansas fake bomb case

— A trial has been rescheduled for a man accused of strapping what he said was a bomb to an elderly woman’s ankle and then forcing her to withdraw money from a bank.

Prosecutor John Threet said Monday that Paul Bradley’s trial has been reset for this summer.

Bradley has pleaded not guilty to robbery, kidnapping and firearms charges. He was arrested earlier this year after authorities say he tried to extort money from an elderly woman and her husband.

Prosecutors say Bradley attached what the woman thought was a bomb to her ankle. The device turned out to be fake.

Threet says a judge reset Bradley’s trial date for July 24.

Bradley’s attorney didn’t return a phone call for comment.
