I-40 bridge inspection shuts lane

A routine inspection of the Interstate 40 Bridge over the Mississippi River between West Memphis and Memphis will keep a lane closed Monday and Tuesday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
The eastbound, outside lane will be closed 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting, the department said. After that inspection is finished, the department said, the westbound, outside lane will close Tuesday or Wednesday and remain shut through Thursday, with work being performed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, the department said.
The highway department urges driver caution in traveling through work zones.
