— The man who was shot and killed Friday afternoon by Little Rock police had a weapon, according to a police report released Saturday.

Donald O’Fallon, 43, of 1107 Gillette Drive “exited the house with a weapon” when officers responded to a disturbance call there about 4:10 p.m. Friday, the report states.

As O’Fallon stepped out of the house, “officers discharged their firearms, striking O’Fallon,” according to the report.

O’Fallon was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 5:02 p.m., Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs said.

The officers involved in the shooting were identified in the report as Matthew Hoffine and James Anderson. Both officers were placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is completed.

Police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis did not return several calls or an e-mail message Saturday seeking additional information about the shooting and the officers’ employment history at the department.

Officers responded to the residence Friday afternoon after a neighbor called 911 reporting a disturbance. Tabitha Risley, 29, who Davis said was in “a dating relationship” with O’Fallon and lived at the residence, told officers that she had been arguing with O’Fallon all day.

Risley told police O’Fallon struck her in the head, but she did not appear to have any injuries, a police report states.

Shortly after speaking with Risley, O’Fallon left the house with the weapon, the report states.

The type of weapon was not specified in the report.

The episode on Gillette Drive was the third fatal police shooting in Little Rock this year.

The last such shooting was on May 22, when officer Terry McDaniel killed Charles Edward Murry Jr., 19, in the 300 block of South Thayer Street.

Police said Murry, who pointed a handgun at Mc-Daniel during a foot pursuit, was running from a burglary during which he shot and killed one man and injured another.

The other fatal police shooting this year was on Jan. 17, when Angelo Clark, 31, was killed during a police raid at his residence.

Police said Clark pointed a loaded AK-47 rifle at the Special Weapons and Tactics team entering the house at 1322 S. Tyler St.

Pulaski County prosecutor Larry Jegley said Saturday that Little Rock’s two previous police shootings this year have been ruled justified.
