North Little Rock police investigate a shooting Thursday afternoon at 18th and Schaer streets.

North Little Rock police have arrested a suspect who purportedly implicated himself in a Thursday afternoon shooting that left one victim in critical condition.

Police responded to a call at about 2:14 p.m. Thursday that a man in his late 20s or early 30s had been shot at 901 W. 18th St., Apt. B.

Police identified the victim in a news release Friday as 41-year-old Corey Hurtado of North Little Rock. Hurtado was transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where he remains in critical condition.

Police arrested 26-year-old Otis Langhorn at about noon Friday in connection to the shooting. Police said Langhorn told investigators during a post-Miranda interview that he shot Hurtado on Thursday and fled the residence.

Langhorn was on parole prior to Friday's arrest and has a previous felony conviction for robbery, police said in a release.
