UCA falls to Georgia Southern, 24-16

— Quarterback Jerick McKinnon rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns as Georgia Southern held off Central Arkansas 24-16 on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs at Paulson Stadium.

The Eagles (9-3) will travel to Old Dominion for a quarterfinal game next week.

UCA (9-3) had a chance to tie the game, but receiver Dezmin Lewis fumbled with 2:08 left and the Eagles recovered.

Wynrick Smothers completed 16 of 41 passes for 251 yards for the Bears.
