LR police apprehend capital-murder suspect

Little Rock police arrested a capital-murder suspect Sunday after a caller told officers that the wanted man was at an apartment in her complex.

Tommy Barber, 28, wanted in a Forrest City killing, is in police custody after Little Rock police found him at Cedar Ridge West Apartments.

Responding officers went to the door of an apartment, where Jessica Roberts-Barber, 24, answered the door. There, police said, officers asked where Tommy Barber was inside, but she said only she and her child were there.

In searching the apartment, police said, officers found Tommy Barber behind an air filter in the living room and arrested him.

Officers confirmed that Tommy Barber had warrants on charges of capital murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a certain person and endangering the welfare, all from Forrest City, and a warrant on an absconding charge from the Department of Correction.

Barber was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where Forrest City authorities planned to pick him up.

Roberts-Barber was charged with hindering the apprehension of a criminal and was taken to the Pulaski County jail.
