A Hope woman was killed Monday after her car ran off the road in Scott County, a preliminary Arkansas State Police crash report shows.

Carolyn E. Robinson, 51, was driving 2003 Ford Taurus driving north on U.S. 71 shortly before 2 p.m. when her car veered off the road to the right. Robinson then overcorrected, causing her car to cross into the southbound lane, run off the left side of the road and overturn, state police said.

The accident happened about 1.5 miles north of the Polk County line.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County Coroner Sam Callahan, state police said.

Robinson was the 506th person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
