A single-vehicle wreck Monday in Ashley County killed a Hamburg man and injured another, according to Arkansas State Police records.

Rawleigh Shane Wright, 48, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet S14 truck east on Arkansas 8 when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the highway, veered back and overturned, state police said.

His passenger, John Joachim Brown, 57, was ejected and killed, state police said.

Wright was taken to Ashley County Medical Center, and his condition was unknown Tuesday.

The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m., west of Parkdale.

Brown was the 504th person to die in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
