The Arkansas Travelers announced Tuesday that Tim Bogar has been hired as the minor league baseball team's manager for the 2013 season

Bogar, 46, is the 10th manager for the Travelers during the Double-A team's 12-year affiliation with the Los Angeles Angels.

Bogar spent three years on the coaching staff of the Boston Red Sox. He was their bench coach for the 2012 season and their first base coach the two seasons before.

He played major league baseball for nine years with the New York Mets, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers, primarily as a utility infielder.

Also announced Tuesday, former Major League All-Star Mike Hampton has been hired as pitching coach. It's his first coaching job, but his pitching career included 148 Major League wins.

Hampton, 40, has spent the past two seasons out of baseball.

He appeared in 419 games with the Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks, and retired from Arizona just before the 2011 season, the Travelers said.

"We are excited to welcome Tim and Mike to the Angels family as they bring a wealth of Major League experience to our minor league development program," Angels Assistant General Manager Scott Servais said in a statement.
