Bids open on I-530 work near Wrightsville

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department has opened bids to resurface 7.4 miles of Interstate 530 southwest of Wrightsville, the department said Friday.

The improvements, in Pulaski and Saline counties, will begin at Bingham Road in Pulaski County and will continue southeast to the Grant County line.

Cranford Construction Co. of North Little Rock was awarded the contract with a bid of $13,525,134.63, the department said.

Three bridges are scheduled to be replaced and two resurfaced. in the course of the project.

Work on the project could start in two to four weeks, the department added.

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2015.
