Maintenance to an Interstate 40 bridge in Lonoke County will require a lane closure this week, Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials said Monday.

The work, to be done near the Kerr exit, will require the westbound, outside lane of I-40 to be closed Wednesday and Thursday, the department said.

The lanes are set to close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, weather permitting.

The Highway Department urges drivers to take extra care when traveling through the area.
