Stabbing in Bryant yields murder charge

A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a Sunday night stabbing in Bryant, the Bryant Police Department said Monday.

Bryant officers responded about 9:40 p.m. to a call at 110 S.E. Third St., where they “isolated” men in the driveway before entering the home at that address, the department said in a statement.

Inside, they found Ismael Tagle-Carreon, 35, bleeding severely from multiple stab wounds, police said. A red-handled pocket knife lay beside him.

Despite exhaustive attempts to save his life, Tagle-Carreon was dead at the scene, police said.

While officers conducted a preliminary investigation, police said, witnesses told them that one of the men in the driveway, Itzamanna Jiminez-Jasso, 34, had been arguing with Tagle-Carreon, who hit Jiminez-Jasso in the face before being stabbed in the chest.

Jiminez-Jasso was charged with second-degree murder and taken to the Saline County jail, police said.

A bail hearing was set for Wednesday.
