Man robbed, beaten at LR gas station

— A Little Rock man was robbed of his wallet by a group of men who fought with him before one of them displayed a handgun, authorities said.

Josh Oliver, 32, told authorities he was at the Shell gas station at 16800 Chenal Parkway about 9:15 p.m. Monday when two men approached him and demanded his wallet, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Authorities say Oliver refused and began fighting with the two men. A third man then came over and displayed a handgun, at which point Oliver surrendered the wallet, the report said.

The three robbers — described as black men about 5-foot-9 and weighing about 170 pounds — fled in an unknown direction. All three robbers were said to be wearing black clothes and black masks.

Police say Oliver suffered "swollen and bruised" eyes, though he declined medical attention.
