A multi-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon snarled Interstate 40 traffic in both directions near mile marker 200 in Biscoe.
David Nilles, spokesman for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, said eastbound lanes reopened about 2:30, but the westbound lanes continue to be closed. Westbound traffic is being diverted to U.S. Highway 70.
Nilles said medical-flight units were on the scene, but he didn't have information on the condition of the drivers or if fatalities resulted from this accident.
As of 3:15 p.m., Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said he did not have any details about the accident.
