Police: Argument over baby's gender led to attack

— A man attacked his girlfriend Monday night in North Little Rock during an argument over their baby's gender, authorities said.

Landree Harris, 28, was being held in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday on a charge of third-degree domestic battery.

A North Little Rock Police Department arrest report says officers were called about 9:15 p.m. to investigate the incident at 415 Healy St.

The victim told investigators she was with Harris, her boyfriend, at that residence when "they got into an argument over the fact that they were having a girl and [not] a boy," the report said.

The victim said Harris then punched her in the head before removing the power cord from her tablet and striking her with it. Police said they observed a red mark on the right side of her arm.

A resident who was also there told police she also "witnessed the attack," according to the report.

Harris is due in court later Tuesday morning.
