Beebe to speak to state agricultural council

— Gov. Mike Beebe is speaking at the Agricultural Council of Arkansas’ annual meeting in downtown Little Rock.

Beebe is making the keynote address at the group’s meeting at the Capital Hotel on Wednesday.

Incoming House Speaker Davy Carter of Cabot is also expected to speak to the group Wednesday morning.

The speeches are part of a day-long meeting that will also include updates on the negotiations over the federal farm bill, the National Weather Service forecast, the state water plan and other agricultural issues facing the state.

The council was formed in 1939 and promotes agriculture in the state.
