LR police seek 2 in armed bank robbery

Little Rock police are searching for two people involved in an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said a man and a woman entered the Metropolitan National Bank at 7401 Cantrell Road shortly before 3 p.m. demanding money. Davis said the male robber displayed a handgun and the woman used pepper spray on a bank teller before both fled in a white Chevrolet Malibu with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses described both robbers as black and wearing all black clothes. The female suspect is additionally described as 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds with long hair and a black cap. The male suspect is described as about 6-foot to 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds with a full beard and a zip-up hooded sweatshirt, Davis said.

Aside from the minor injuries suffered by the teller, Davis said, no other injuries were reported.
