Man arrested in Sharp County bomb threat

— Authorities in Sharp County say one person was arrested for phoning in a bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation of Highland High School.

The threat was called in to the Fulton County sheriff's office on Tuesday morning. Officials say the caller didn’t specify which high school had the supposed bomb. Since the call was made from an phone with an 847 prefix, authorities decided to evacuate the high school at Highland.

No bomb was found.

The Sharp County sheriff's office said a man from Cherokee Village was arrested and taken to the Fulton County jail.

A bomb-sniffing dog from the Air Force was used to check for explosives.
