Tickets go on sale this weekend for two shows at North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena. Call (800) 745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com.

George Strait’s supposedly final road trip, The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, with “special guest” Martina McBride, will make a 7:30 p.m. April 12 stop at the arena. Tickets, $86 and $108.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster outlets; there is an eight-ticket limit and the arena is using its paperless ticket system for floor, lower bowl and some upper bowl seats.

Rockers Three Days Grace and Shinedown will co-headline a concert, with “special guest” P.O.D. at 7 p.m. March 16. Tickets, $35.50 and $52, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ticketmaster outlets (but not at the arena box office, which will be closed). The paperless ticket system will be in effect and there is an eight-ticket limit.

Messiah a la Porter

The Art Porter Singers will offer their annual performance of George Frideric Handel’s Messiah at 5 p.m. Sunday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 815 W. 16th St., Little Rock. Admission is free. Call (501) 374-2891 or e-mail bethellr@att.net.

Flute/harp recital

Susan Antonetti, flute, and Alisa Coffey, harp, will give an Advent recital at noon Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Road, Little Rock. The program will feature music for the Advent and Christmas seasons, including arrangements of “ItCame Upon the Midnight Clear” and other carols, and the “Largo” movement from Antonio Vivaldi’s “Winter” Concerto, part of The Four Seasons. Concert honors vets

The Gen. T.J. Churchill chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, will host a Christmas concert honoring veterans by 14 students, ranging from age 8 to adults, of the Margaret Wyatt Piano and Vocal Studio, 2 p.m. Sunday at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Theatre on Tour

The Arkansas Arts Center’s Children’s Theatre on Tour will perform ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, based on the poem by Clement Moore, at 2 p.m. Saturday inRiceland Auditorium, Grand Prairie Center, Stuttgart campus of the Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, 2709 U.S. 165 S., Stuttgart. Christmas revue

The Ozark Arts Council is hosting Once Upon a Cold December Night, a musical revue of Christmas songs, 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday at the Lyric Theatre, 115 W. Rush St., Harrison. The show is a fundraiser for Children’s Charity Ministry of Harrison.
