JUDSONIA Authorities in White County say a man is in jail on accusations he crashed his vehicle into a detective’s unmarked car, then fled.
Authorities say the crash happened Wednesday morning near Judsonia.
According to the White County sheriff’s office, 40-year-old Jerry Wayne Smith II crossed the centerline and crashed into a car driven by detective Jeff Williams.
Authorities say Smith ran toward Williams and drew a knife, but authorities eventually wrestled Smith to the ground.
The Daily Citizen reported that Smith was driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Smith was taken to the White County Medical Center for a minor injury, then was booked in the jail. Authorities did not know whether he had an attorney.
Authorities say Williams also suffered a minor injury.

"Authorities in White County say a man is in jail on accusations he crashed his vehicle into a detective’s unmarked car, then fled." AND "Authorities say Smith ran toward Williams and drew a knife"... Did the guy 'flee' or did he attack Williams with a knife??? Something is missing here.
