opened Monday at 815 N. University Drive, Pine Bluff (across from St. James United Methodist Church). Connie L. Williams is the general manager/chef, putting out burgers from “classic grilled” to “Ultimate Double Burger,” all served with fries and choice of American, provolone or Swiss cheese. The menu also offers salads, signature sandwiches, corn dogs, wings, pizza and catfish, and “Free small drink served with every meal,” according to the flier we got. A.W. Lin’s Asian Cuisine opened Wednesday in the Promenade at Chenal, 17000 block of Chenal Parkway, Little Rock. The menu features traditional Chinese dishes, some Thai food and a variety of sushi rolls. It’s the first Arkansas location; there are six Fulin’s Asian Cuisine restaurants in Tennessee and two in Alabama. (The change in name evidently reflects avoiding a conflict with the existing Fu Lin’s Chinese Cuisine on Bowman Road; the initials are those of owner Andy Liu and executive chef and co-owner Tony Wong.) Hours are 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday- Saturday, but they’ll be open only for dinner, starting at 5 p.m., through Friday. The telephone number is (501) 821-5398.
Laurie Harrison of Le Pops Gourmet Lollies, in the River Market’s Ottenheimer Market Hall, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock, reports, “I now offer Hot Pops. The customer chooses a hot beverage [cocoa, sweet milk or coffee] and a small pop [Salted Caramel, Pecan, Chocolate Marvel, Raspberry Cream, Coffee & Cream, Mexican Chocolate or Chocolate Mint]. Friday and Saturday will be the grand reopening of Mr. Dunderbak’s in the Center Court at the bottom of the escalator, Mc-Cain Mall, McCain Boulevard and U.S. 67-167 in North Little Rock, during which patrons can enjoy “German entertainment” while munching on German sausage, port wine cheese and champagne cheese bread pretzels while sipping on a variety of imported bottled and draft beer. The newly reincarnated restaurant also has a coffee bar, which, according to the website, sites.google.com/site/ mrdunderbaksofarkansasinc, will feature Silvek’s pastries and breads. The website also notes the addition of “vegetarian and vegan sausages at our grill and sandwiches at our deli” and gluten-free options provided by Dempsey’s Bakery. A spokesman for the corporate office of LongHorn Steakhouse, a subsidiary of Orlando, Fla.-based Darden Restaurants (which also brings you Olive Garden and Red Lobster), says they do not yet have a target opening date for the restaurant going into the Shackleford Crossings shopping center, 2600 S. Shackleford Road, Little Rock. We’ll continue to check on it.
