FAYETTEVILLE Police in Fayetteville are searching for a motorist who struck a pedestrian on Weddington Drive and kept going.
Authorities said the pedestrian, Alexander Gibson, was hospitalized in serious condition after the Friday night accident.
Fayetteville television station KHOG reports the crash occurred near the Catfish Hole restaurant.
A motorist who stopped to help Gibson says there was plenty of broken glass scattered over the area. Police say they were able to collect evidence but didn’t say whether it enabled them to determine the make and model of the suspect vehicle.
Police say Gibson was struck in an area of Weddington where pedestrian crossing isn’t allowed.
