LRPD officer arrested on third-degree battery charges

— An investigation is underway after a Little Rock police officer was arrested Sunday.

According to Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis, Officer James Youngblood was arrested in Saline County Sunday on third-degree battery charges. Youngblood joined the department in 2009.

Davis said Youngblood has been relieved of his duties, with pay, pending the internal investigation.
