Police: Woman dragged after purse snatched

By Gavin Lesnick

This article was published December 17, 2012 at 1:27 p.m.

— An 84-year-old Little Rock woman was dragged along the ground after her purse was snatched by a woman in a vehicle that then sped off, police said.

It happened about 1:45 p.m. Sunday at 8801 Base Line Road.

Police say two witnesses told them Gussie Bridges was dragged alongside a maroon Nissan Frontier when a woman inside the vehicle snatched the purse she was clutching.

Bridges was taken to St. Vincent Hospital for treatment of multiple lacerations to her hands and feet and swelling to the left side of her forehead.

The purse snatchers are described only as a black man and a black woman.

No arrests have been made.

This is a shame, taking an 84 year-old woman's purse. Get a job!

I believe anyone who would brutally rob a defenseless 84 y.o. woman MUST be lacking balance in their lives. Sometimes life balance means work, family, commitments... sometimes is just a matter of weight adjustment. the latter looks to be the case here & I have the perfect solution. Its a compact, powder activated, pocket sized lead weight insertion tool, be sure to keep one handy for situations like this. If used often enough when these situations arise, problems like this will happenen less & less frequently...

Why is it that if someone spits on the sidewalk in the RiverMarket the headline will read "More Crime and Disrespect In The RIVERMARKET" nut yet an 84 year old lady is brutally assaulted at WALMART.... and that fails to be mentioned??? Just Sayin'
