LITTLE ROCK A bicyclist injured in a collision with a car last month while riding on Kavanaugh Boulevard has died from her injuries, police said Tuesday.
The Little Rock Police Department said Diane McConnell, 66, died Tuesday. She had been listed in critical condition when she was transported to St. Vincent Hospital after the Nov. 10 accident.
The wreck happened about 2 p.m. as McConnell was riding north on the road just north of Cantrell Road. Police say she collided with a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 52-year-old Ronald Ward and then fell to the pavement. One witness reported the rear tire of the Fusion then ran over McConnell.
Ward "stated he attempted to pass her and she struck the rear passenger side of his vehicle," police said.
Police say they are still waiting for blood results to see whether intoxication played a role in the accident. No determination on possible charges will be made until the case file is forwarded to the prosecutor's office by late January, authorities said.
