NORTH LITTLE ROCK Authorities say a North Little Rock man was arrested Monday with a loaded, sawed-off shotgun after he battered his girlfriend a short time earlier.
Daytona Harper, 22, is due in court Tuesday on charges of third-degree domestic battery, criminal use of a prohibited weapon and interfering with emergency communications.
According to a North Little Rock Police Department arrest report, officers were called to Harper's residence at 512 Wicker Lane about 8:45 a.m. His girlfriend of two years told investigators that Harper struck her in the face, pulled her hair and then knocked the phone out of her hands as she called authorities, the report said.
Police say Harper fled the scene but was arrested a short time later walking in the 6000 block of U.S. 165 with the sawed-off shotgun.
Harper is being held without bail in the Pulaski County jail pending an initial appearance in North Little Rock District Court.

Did he have his hoodie with him or was this just his morning stroll with the gun?
