Charred remains found in Phillips County

HELENA-WEST HELENA — Authorities are investigating after charred human remains were found along a highway in Phillips County.
The Helena Daily World reports that the remains were found early Tuesday along Arkansas 44. Authorities say they have not yet confirmed whether the remains belong to a man or a woman.
Authorities with the Helena-West Helena Police Department, Phillips County sheriff’s office and Arkansas State Police are investigating.
Authorities say forensics investigators are working to determine what happened.
