PARAGOULD The Greene County Tech School District in northeast Arkansas is beefing up security in response to the deadly school shooting in Connecticut.
The district sent out letters to parents this week announcing plans to install a buzzer system on the doors at Greene County Tech Primary School next month.
Superintendent Jerry Noble told Jonesboro television station KAIT that visitors will need to show identification and be buzzed in the secure doors before entering the building.
Noble says the system is already in place at the district’s high school. He says the “buzz-in” system will eventually be rolled out to all the schools in the district.
