Obama named ’Person of the Year’ by 'Time' magazine

NEW YORK — President Barack Obama has been named Time’s “Person of the Year” for 2012.
The selection was announced Wednesday on NBC’s Today show.
The short list for the honor included Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who was shot in the head for advocating for girls’ education.
It also included Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi and Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Obama also received the honor in 2008, when he was President-elect.
Last year, “The Protester” got the honor.
Time’s “Person of the Year” is the person or thing that has most influenced the culture and the news during the past year for good or for ill. In 2010, Facebook founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg received the honor.

Oh please.....He is absolutely, without a doubt the worse President in History. The man can't balance a budget, has divided this country like no other, he's a good orator and that's about it!!

Obama has been a good President otherwise he wouldn't have been re-elected. The American people believed in him enough to ignore all the lies and phony bad press spread by the Republicans for 4 years. His plans prevented us from falling into a depression and put us back on a road to recovery with Republican party throwing sand into the gears the whole way. He may be even remembered as a great President before it is all over.

You right wingers were so sure that you were going to win this time around, you were all chipping in for new curtains in the White House. What good did all the billions you contributed and the superpac were given do to help the outcome. It was your da m n archaic policies that turned voters off, and it's only going to get worse for you people next time. Have a good nights sleep dreaming about yesteryear.

Actually, I tend to think it had more to do with people voting against Romney (under the belief he'd be worse) rather than voting for Obama. Kinda like Kerry in '04.

I stopped reading Time in 1944 because their staff was so far to the left. Prior to that I would only read an article on occasion, primarily because of an assignment by a teacher. I wised up and refused to read it anymore. LIFE magazine was published by the same company but, LIFE was an objective publication, not like Time.

It is true that some people voted for Obama as an anti-Romney vote but that didn't compare to the anti-Obama vote. The far right had been stoking hatred of Obama from the day he took office. It's hard for an anti-vote to develop in a few months when compared to a 4 year gestation.
