BROOKLAND A body found in a ditch alongside U.S. 49-B near Brookland has been identified as a 41-year-old Brookland man.
Craighead County sheriff’s investigator Gary Etter said the body is that of Michael Thomas Epley.
Etter said that Epley’s body was found across from a golf course by motorists Thursday.
Etter said foul play is not suspected and the body has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
He said Epley was a disabled military veteran and that Epley’s mother told investigators that her son had recently been to a hospital because of severe headaches.

Something is missing from this story. Was the veteran reported missing? Why would a 41 yr. old man be found beside a road dead without any questions being asked? Just curious..
