Thousands still without power after storms, winds

— More than 10,000 Entergy customers were without power Friday morning, a day after strong storms and heavy winds moved through the region.

The utility reported on its website shortly after 10:45 a.m. that about 10,435 customers across the state were in the dark. Many of the outages were listed as likely to be repaired by Friday or Saturday at noon, though some were said to possibly last through Sunday.

In Pulaski County, more than 3,000 customers were without power. Many of those were scattered throughout Little Rock, including a large pocket centered in the Hillcrest neighborhood, where roughly 600 customers had no electricity at 10:45 a.m.

"Thunderstorms and high winds that moved through the area have caused numerous outages," the utility wrote on its online outage map. " Entergy personnel are working to restore service as quickly as safely possible."
