Arkansas achievers

— Dr. Susan Hanrahan, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Arkansas State University, has been named the 2012 outstanding member of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions. She is also a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Allied Health and holds national leadership positions with the association and the Allied Health Research Institute.

Connor Van Hemmert of Little Rock has been named a Ouachita Scholar and has received a Tiger Network Leadership Award, an E.L. Cullum Endowed Scholarship, a Ray and Lois Coulson Scholarship, and a Harvey and Bernice Jones Scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University.He is a graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy and is studying business administration with an emphasis on management. He is the son of Dr. Rudy Van Hemmert and Donna Van Hemmert.

Katie Carroll of Little Rock has been selected as a Ouachita Scholar by Ouachita Baptist University. She is a graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy and a pre-nursing major. She is the daughter of Jim and Lin Carroll.

Griffin Peeples of North Little Rock has received a Trustee Scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. Peeples is a graduate of Central Arkansas Christian and is pursuing a degree in accounting and business administration with an emphasis in finance. He is the son of Terry and Daryl Peeples.

Andrew Halliburton of Bentonville has received a Ouachita Scholars scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. He is a graduate of Bentonville High School and is pursuing a degree in Christian studies with an emphasis in Christian missions. He is the son of Scott and Diane Halliburton.

Sydney Bratton of Little Rock has been awarded a Ouachita Scholars scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. Bratton is a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and is pursuing a degree in mass communications. She is the daughter of John and Alison Bratton.

Rachel Chandler of Little Rock has received a Trustee Scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. Chandleris a graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy and is pursuing a degree in biology. She is the daughter of Drs. Kim and Kay Chandler.

Tyler Williams of Benton has been awarded a Trustee Scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. Williams is a graduate of Benton High School and is pursuing a degree in chemistry. She is the daughter of Tony and Chrysti Williams.

Arkansas Achievers is an opportunity to give recognition to Arkansans for their achievements.

Civilian and military achievements are accepted.

2) Received an award, scholarship, medal or promotion.

Pageants, deans’ lists, graduations or military enlistments are not accepted.
