LITTLE ROCK — Geania Dickey and Dr. Gary Wheeler were presented with the Friend of Children Award at the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families annual luncheon, Dec. 10, at the Clinton Presidential Center.
The awards are given to individuals who have made improving the lives of children and families central to their life’s mission, said Cory Anderson, who welcomed guests to the luncheon.
Wheeler, a physician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, has most recently served as branch chief of infectious diseases at the Arkansas Department of Health.
Dickey serves as the public policy co-chairman for the Arkansas Early Childhood Association.
The program also included board President Terri Beiner reviewing the organization’s accomplishments over the past year and Executive Director Rich Huddleston previewing their work in 2013.
