LITTLE ROCK — The Weekend Theater will take down August: Osage County by Tracy Letts, for which the rights have been recalled, and replace it on the April 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20 schedule with Doubt by John Patrick Shanley.

Superstar auditions
The Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock, will hold auditions for its summer 2013 production of Jesus Christ Superstar, a rock musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics):
Jan. 10, 6-8 p.m. open call; 8-9 p.m. dance call.
Jan. 12: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. open call; 1-2 p.m. dance call.
Director Vince Insalaco says the January auditions are timed to attract students home on holiday break who will be home again during the summer.
Principal, supporting and chorus parts are available for men and women age 18 and up; a complete rundown of characters, their descriptions and voice ranges are available at the website argentacommunitytheater.com.
There will be separate auditions for children, closer to the rehearsal time frame, to fill as many as four children’s roles.
For the adult auditions, come prepared to sing 32 bars of any song from the musical, or, if choosing other music, supply the sheet music for the accompanist. There is also a dance component.
Christen Pitts will be the choreographer; Kurt Kennedy will handle the music and orchestrations. Production dates are July 23-28. Rehearsals begin in June. More information is at (501) 353-1443.
Happiness auditions
Community Theatre of Little Rock will hold open auditions for The Pursuit of Happiness by Richard Dresser at 2 p.m. Jan. 5-6 at the Public Theatre, 616 Center St., Little Rock.
