BEEBE - Dennis Martin Eagle, 64, of Beebe, died Dec. 23, 2012.He was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Douglas and Mildred Eagle.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet; two sons, James Austin Eagle and wife, Carol, ofRedfield, Michael Todd Jackson and his wife, Gina, of Vilonia; one daughter, Courtney Dawn Eagle of Beebe; six grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Eagle, Ryan Austin Eagle and James Andrew Shannon of Redfield, Thomas Justin Jackson and Gina Shay Jackson of Little Rock, Jordan Breann Shook of Beebe; two sisters, Susan Johnston and husband, John, of Maumelle, Tracy Eagle of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Haydon Eagle of Belleville.

Dennis graduated from the University of Monticello in 1970 with a degree in Forestry. He retired after 36 years in the forestry business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and bird-watching, and shared his knowledge in these areas by writing articles for various outdoor magazines.

BENTON - Lula Mae Miller, 76, of Benton, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. She was born Jan. 12, 1936 in Abilene, Texas, to Floyd and Nollie Seth Willis.

She was the youngest child of three children. She graduated from Abilene High and attended Abilene Christian College.While living in Alaska she was a Tupperware manager plus a substitute teacher. She retired from Little Rock Arkansas State Revenue Offices. In November 1956, Lula married thelove of her life, Thomas Edison Miller Jr.

Lula is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Newton, of Abilene, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Edison Miller Jr.; daughters, Anita May and husband Mike, Peggy Sue Charo and husband Alfredo; son, Thomas Edison Miller III and wife Lisa, all of Benton; sister, Marie Brown, Carrollton, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews.

DERMOTT - Rev. Thomas C. Christmas, age 82, of Dermott,passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. He was born Sept. 12, 1930 in Montrose, Ark. He was a minister for 62 years, retired from Wells Lamont Corporation, a U. S. Navy Veteran and a member of Cominto Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Louis Matthew Christmas and Emma Taylor Christmas.

Bro. Tom, as he was known by most, pastored the Cominto Baptist Church three times for a total of 28 years. He came out of retirement four different times to return to the pulpit. His family said he preached until he just couldn’t do it anymore. The last time he preached, he got through about half of the message and had to ask a deacon to finish it. In his 62 years of preaching, he was without a church only two weeks and that was due to his wife having surgery.

Survivors include his wife Lois Bryant Christmas of Dermott; one son, Tim Christmas and wife, Loraine of Monticello; one brother, Steve Christmas and wife, Alice of S.C.; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Christmas of Dermott; two grandchildren, T. J. Christmas of Monticello and Lora Beth Naron and husband, Andrew of Elizabille, N.Y.; and five great grandchildren.

HOT SPRINGS - Harold A. Chadick, age 91, of Hot Springs, went tobe with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. He was born on Oct. 21, 1921, in Wabbaseka, the son of Charlie H. Chadick and Maudie Braden Chadick.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Chadick servedhis country at the rank of private in the European Theater of Operations, earning five bronze stars for his service between 1942 and 1945. On April 1, 1946, he married his sweetheart, Lillie Mae McGarity, with whom he shared sixty-six wonderful years. From 1957 until his retirement in 1982, Mr. Chadick served as Captain with the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Cummins Unit.

A Methodist by faith, he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James Chadick, William “Bill” Chadick, Mark “Doc” Chadick and Earl Chadick; and one granddaughter, Lauren Chadick.

He is survived by his lovely wife Lillie Mae McGarity Chadick of Hot Springs; four sons and daughtersin-law, Tommy and Linda Chadick of Royal, Robert and Melody Chadick of Swan Lake, William and Judy Chadick of Hot Springs, and Dale and Karen Chadick of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary West of Hot Springs; one brother, Aaron “Chick” Chadick of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Billy Chesshir officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Sunday.
