LITTLE ROCK Police say a Little Rock man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the side Sunday afternoon.
According to a Little Rock Police Department report, 22-year-old Derrek Peters was driving his car in the area near 2600 Madison St. about 3:30 p.m. when a man "climbed into the back seat with an unknown firearm, demanding the money that he claimed was owed to him."
A woman who was in the passenger seat of the car told investigators that the gunman opened fire, hitting Peters in the right side, before fleeing. Peters then put the car in park, got out and chased after the shooter, the report said.
The woman drove after Peters and later took him to St. Vincent Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
